冰岛,听起来像是寒冷而遥远的世界尽头。它被诡秘的玫瑰色天空笼罩,透着仙境般翩翩独立的气质。这个北大西洋岛国,建立在火山爆发遗留下来的岩浆石上,有着世界上最丰富的地热资源与最多的温泉,素有“极圈火岛”、“冰火之国”等美誉。最著名的,还是高原上的现代冰川,其中瓦特纳冰原厚度在几百米到两千米之间,是除南极和格陵兰之外世界上最大的冰川。冰岛这个充满童话色彩的名字由此而来。
Iceland sounds like the end of a cold and distant world. It is enveloped by the secretive rose sky, reveals a fairy-like independent temperament. This North Atlantic island nation is built on the magmatic rocks left behind by volcanic eruptions. It boasts the world’s most abundant geothermal resources and hot springs, and is known as the “Island Fire Nation” and “Ice Fire State”. The most famous is the modern glacier on the plateau, where the Vatnajökull ice thickness is between a few hundred meters and two kilometers, the largest glacier in the world except Antarctica and Greenland.
