经济型酒店是区别于提供其他非必需性酒店的一种以经济为主要目的的酒店形式,源于上世纪的美国街头市场。随着科技时代的发展,20世纪90年代经济型酒店传入中国,经过经营者不断地改良和发展,已经演变出一种相当成熟的模式。在我们国家,经济型酒店的起步较晚,但发展的态势并不输美国等最早出现经济型酒店的国家,2002年,如家集团创办的如家连锁经济型酒店在国际酒店行业市场上取得了不小的成绩,它不仅是我国经济型酒店的代表,更带动了我国酒店业的发展。
