《新华本草纲要》第一册于1988年6月出版。这对中医药工作者来说,是个喜讯。该书由吴征镒教授主编,周太炎和肖培根教授任副主编,上海科学技术出版社出版。诚如该书在凡例中所说,这是一部精简、扼要、实用、系统地介绍我国药用植物的纲要式的专著。全书计划分三册出版,将收载药用植物6000种左右。每种药一般包括中文名、拉丁学名、历史、分布、成分、功效等项。笔者认为该书最大的特点是:
The first volume of the “Xinhua Compendium of Materia Medica” was published in June 1988. This is a good news for Chinese medicine workers. The book is edited by Prof. Zhengzheng Wu and deputy editor-in-chief of Professor Zhou Taiyan and Xiao Peigen, published by Shanghai Science and Technology Press. As stated in the book, this book is a monograph that outlines, summarizes, practically, and systematically introduces the outline of Chinese medicinal plants. The book is planned to be published in three volumes and will contain about 6,000 medicinal plants.
