中国戏剧家协会第三次会员代表大会,是在一九七九年十一月召开的,至今已经五年多了。五年来,在党中央的正确指引下,全国戏剧工作者团结奋斗,继续解放思想,勇于革新探索,戏剧工作取得了很大成绩。然而,也必须看到,由于种种复杂的原因,曾经一度繁荣兴旺的戏剧事业已经有所衰落,戏剧工作在前进的道路上困难重重,问题成堆。这主要表现在:戏剧战线上“左”的影响远未肃清,作者不断流失,优秀剧作不能满足需要,观众逐年下降,剧团难以维持……不少戏剧工作者惊呼:戏剧,正面临着危机!救救戏剧吧!因此,统一思恩认识,总结经验教训,研究解决问题的办法,鼓舞广大戏剧工作者的士气,振兴衰落中的戏剧,是当务之急。这就需要抓紧召开全国会员代表大会,群策群力,共商大事。正是在这种形势下,来自全国二十九个省、市、自治区的九百多名代表齐聚北京,举行了中国戏剧家协会第四次会 The Third Congress of the Chinese Dramatists Association was held in November 1979 and it has been more than five years since. This requires an effort to convene the National Congress of the members, work together to discuss major issues.
