亚洲篮球联合会竞赛委员会在菲律宾马尼拉举行的亚洲青年篮球锦标赛期间召开会议,确定了亚洲篮联的七大赛事,并将这些决议提交亚洲篮联执行局讨论通过。确定的这些赛事包括:今年后将每两年举行一次亚洲男女篮球锦标赛,并且限制在16支球队参加;亚洲22岁青年男子选手锦标赛每四年举行一次,从明年开始举办;亚洲22岁女子选手锦标赛1998年开始举办;亚洲青年男篮赛从1998年起每四年举行一次;亚青女篮赛从明年开始每四年举行一次;亚洲男篮俱乐部赛明年起每年举行一次,限制在10支球队参加。这些决议使得今后每年亚洲至少有3项篮球赛事举行。
The Asian Basketball Federation’s competition committee met during the Asian Youth Basketball Championships in Manila, Philippines, identifying seven events of the Asian Basketball Federation and submitting them to the Asian Basketball Federation Executive Board for discussion and approval. The events to be confirmed include the Asian Basketball Championships which will be held every two years after this year and will be restricted to 16 teams; the Asian 22-year-old men’s championship will be held every four years starting from next year; the Asian 22-year-old woman Athletes Championship started in 1998; Asian Youth Basketball Championships held every four years since 1998; Asian Youth Basketball match held every four years from next year; Asian Men’s Basketball Club game held annually from next year, limited to 10 Team participation. These resolutions will enable at least three basketball events in Asia each year in the future.
