Introduction Davy Crockett (hereinafter “Crockett”) and Mike Fink (“Fink” for short) are the two popular American early nineteenth century character. They were both well-known in pop literature at the time, widely known for their superb marksmanship, strength and courage, as well as for the pioneers of the United States. They are all portrayed as “half-horse, half-alligator” and die very heroically. Richard Dorson put the two together for discussion as “National Heroes in Democracy.” ~ ③ However, Crockett still famous in the 20th century, Fink’s aura has dimmed to become Walt Disney’s fiction
