麦积山的石窟开凿始于东晋,至北朝时步入兴盛。这一阶段在我国历史上是美学思想发展的一个重要时期,推动了佛教艺术在中国的传播,并受本土文化影响而日益中国化。佛教的传入,不仅影响到我国的哲学思潮,对我国古代的艺术审美也产生了深刻的影响。古代的人民在吸收了佛教的文化精髓后,依据本土的技艺手法和本土人民的体态特征,对造像的形态、容貌、服饰进行刻画,创造出符合大众审美的形象。在动荡的历史背景下,各种文化潮流相互交流与融合,形成了麦积山石窟的造像艺术风格,麦积山石窟北朝造像的服饰艺术演变的过程也是佛教本土化、世俗化的一个演变过程。
Maiji Mountain Grottoes opened in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, into the Northern Dynasties into prosperity. This stage is an important period in the history of our country for the development of aesthetic thought, which has promoted the spread of Buddhist art in China and is increasingly being localized by the influence of local culture. The introduction of Buddhism not only affected the philosophical trend of thoughts in our country, but also had a profound impact on the aesthetic appreciation of ancient China. After absorbing the essence of Buddhism, the ancient people depict the form, appearance and costume of the statues according to the local techniques and the physical features of the native people, creating an image that meets the aesthetic standards of the public. Under the turbulent historical background, various cultural trends exchange and blend with each other to form the artistic style of the Maiji Mountain Grottoes. The evolution of costume art in the Maiji Mountain Grotto Northern Dynasties is also an evolution of Buddhism localization and secularization .
