篆刻作为一门艺术是有技巧的,仅胆大不是艺术。对学艺者来说“艺”是技巧,“术”是学术,是文化底蕴,二者不可分开。刻印时章法,刀法是技巧,但表现的是风神。这与作者的文化底蕴有关,说到底还是要体现其文化涵养。技巧是骨肉,文化是灵魂。没有灵魂的骨肉,只是行尸走肉。所以,写字,刻印都要有文化来支撑。因此,作品要从技巧和文化两方面来评价。从事篆刻创作,不仅要捉刀刻石,更要抓紧时间读书,读书是攻艺
