岁月在历史的长河中静静地流淌,世纪钟声中人类拉开了又一个千年之门。站在21世纪的门槛上,回望过去,翘首未来,人们不由得会问:我们曾收获了什么?历史的航船又将驶向何处? 人类社会和文明自诞生以来,就不断以加速度向前发展。20世纪初地球上只有几亿人口,但到世纪末,人口已爆炸性地增至60亿,预计21世纪将达到100—130亿。地球,已向人类敲响了最强烈的警钟。工业革命后,社会生产力幅度提高,科学技术日新月异,人们的生活越来越富裕,可是我们在追求富裕的同时,也在损失我们赖以生存的资源、环境和生态。求富和可持续发展已成为当代人类社会最亟待解决的矛盾。
The years flow quietly through the long river of history, and the bells of the century have opened another door of the millennium. Standing on the threshold of the 21st century, looking back to the past and looking forward to the future, people could not help but ask: What have we harvested? Where will the historical ships go? Since the birth of human society and civilization, we have been accelerating forward development of. At the beginning of the 20th century there were only a few hundred million people on earth, but by the end of the century the population had exploded to 6 billion. It is estimated that in the 21st century it will reach 10 to 1.3 billion. The earth has sounded the strongest alarm to mankind. After the industrial revolution, the rate of social productivity has risen, the science and technology have been changing with each passing day, and people’s lives have become increasingly affluent. However, while pursuing affluence, we are losing the resources, environment and ecology upon which we depend for survival. The pursuit of wealth and sustainable development have become the most urgent contradictions in the contemporary human society.
