April 2009, “International Financial Crisis Challenges to Modern Economics,” a book published by the Economic Science Press. Since October 2008, the international financial crisis triggered by the U.S. subprime mortgage crisis has witnessed the governments of all countries and regions being busy with the grim real challenges posed by the crisis. In particular, the U.S. government has been struggling to reverse the situation. After the crisis, economists from all over the world have been unable to explain clearly the mechanism and governance strategy of the financial crisis. This shows that the existing basic theories of modern economics can not effectively serve the operation and development of the real economy in the 21st century.
