In the past few weeks, the industry’s three leading suppliers of programmable logic devices unanimously announced record sales of their products. Xilinx, Altera and Actel have all provided enough evidence that our popular line of programmable logic devices is rapidly growing in millions of units. We can not help but ask: "Has the programmable device finally won the electronics industry recognition as a high-volume, productive solution, not just as a low-volume prototype for prototyping? Have we finally come in Threshold to see the FPGA in the high volume has become a long-term alternative to ASIC?
