Some bureau appointed several departmental cadres. The director called these new chiefs and encouraged them to say: “After taking office, you should work diligently, and hope that you will be self-esteem, be clean, be fresh forever, and will not be corrupt.” Officials want to “preserve freshness.” This formulation is very fresh and profound. So, how can officials “keep fresh”? I think we should take the following measures. First of all, officials self-education, self-preservation. Material must be self-corrosive and insects. Officials should conscientiously build up the Great Wall of Preservation in their minds, “refuse to erode and never touch”, remain sober-minded at all times and uphold the principle of party spirit all the time, all in the interests of the people. Comrade Zheng Peimin is exemplary in his self-preservation. For personal purposes, some people find Zheng Peimin’s home and give him or his wife money for delivery. However, Zheng Peimin and his wife have achieved “prudence and independence” and consciously “resist corruption,” thus maintaining the true nature of the Communists.
