Stein, a French-American writer, has a unique page in the history of American literature because of his rich personal experience, special racial background and sexual orientation, and radical experiments in literary form. She has a deep understanding of American racial and gender identity and is closely linked with the pioneering literary movement in Paris. In her early Three Lives, Stein reconstructed its deep-rooted ideology with a seemingly stable and credible pattern of race and gender, and adopted contradictory and instable Sexual literary experimentation builds a model of race, gender and sex. And this paradigm is equally contradictory and indefinable, demonstrating the most radical aspects of experiments on the gendered, racial, sexual and literary forms. This essay will analyze the work from the aspects of race, sex and literary experimentation, aiming to explore its intrinsic and extrinsic and contradictory dualities.
