毒品危害的严重,从公安部门最近公布的数据可以看出:2003年我国内地累计登记在册的吸毒人员已达到103万人(其中74%吸用海洛因),同比上升了11%。在吸毒人员总数中,35岁以下的青少年占到72.2%以上。有的学校已经提出:“严禁毒品进校园、严禁学生染毒品。”近些年来,全国因吸毒过量导致死亡人数累计达2.5万。因吸毒而造成的各类案件层出不穷,同时,吸毒也为艾滋病的传播提供了温床。
According to the data recently released by the public security department, the cumulative number of drug addicts registered in the Mainland in 2003 reached 1.03 million (of which 74% were heroin abusers), an increase of 11% over the same period of last year.
